I had no idea how much I needed this!
I have been eating so much more salad now that I don't have to serve it to myself wet - or take 10 minutes figuring out how to absorb the water in paper towels, while feeling guilty about how much waste it adds to the environment to do that. It is easy to use and efficient. I've actually already considered buying another one, and I've never had a salad spinner before in my 5 decades. I don't know if it really is easy to clean or not, because I haven't yet figured out how to disassemble the top spinner mechanism. But it hasn't needed cleaning inside there yet, so I am not willing to risk messing up the mechanism to clean it. Maybe I'll get a second one so I'm brave enough to try it out. Meanwhile, the basket and bowl have been easy to clean either by hand in the sink or in the top shelf dishwasher. I'm impressed.

Great investment towards healthier eating!!
This thing is amazing! I use it for anything from herbs to canned beans to lettuce. Gets things dry quickly! Easy to clean! The size is GREAT. Unless you're feeding a group of five or more I'd say this is perfectly sized for salads. It'd be ideal for 1 - 3 people and pretty good for four people. The convenience of the smaller size means I'm more likely to use it by far.

IF I GIVE FIVE STARS YOU KNOW ITS SPECIAL
There is nothing not to love about this salad spinner. I use it daily and it never fails. Very easy clean up and storage. It is used to wash and dry my salad ingredients, and occasionally stores another salad for later. I performed a great deal of research in my quest for a salad spinner. Almost all the ones I wanted sported a wealth of customer dissatisfactions. Breaking within a few months of there purchase. I don't hold a great deal of creed in most customer reviews as I attempt to sort out bogus ones. However, there appear to be a theme in this category. OXO salad spinner's main attraction was the push pop spin top feature. I remembered as a child playing with a similar style toy. It gave a grand experience and never failed during those formative years. Simplicity is generally the best in form and function. As I recapture those younger days of years go by with each spin I'm reassured of the high quality this salad spinner posses. After several months of daily sometimes repetitive use. The OXO salad spinner looks and works like new. Sometimes I wish I had went for the larger one but I don't mind on those few occasions of running the spinner a time or two more for larger salads. High quality, strong durability, functions super well with ease and fond memories. Therefore, I'm giving my super rare five star seal. \\DIGITAL SIGNATURE --- \> I close my reviews with a THANK YOU because I do appreciate you investing precious time in reading my material. More Than Just a Salad Spinner
The reason I bought this product is because I changed my diet and it entailed eating a lot of fresh salads. I used to dry my greens with a paper towel and found that to be so wasteful then I saw a YouTube video of Jamie Oliver recommending this exact same product. It works like magic. It DOES get rid of the excess water that would otherwise dilute whatever dressing you have. The concept is just like a laundry spinner. It's a must-have kitchen "gadget". Not only do I use it for its intended purpose, but I also use it as a mixing bowl. The bowl itself has a protrusion to hold the basket, but I just avoid that when mixing. The basket also could be used as a colander. I usually use it to drain my shirataki pasta or when I cook tapioca pearls I use it to drain that too. I just love this piece of kitchen equipment. It's a really good buy.

Spins a lot QUICKLY, and stops almost instantly
Big spinner, great for washing vegetables fresh from the garden. The inner basket also serves as a colander. The braking mechanism is a neat little feature because once this thing starts going, it's going fast and for a long time and sometimes you just can't wait for the spinning to stop. Super easy to clean. As for storage, it's a bulky item but the fact that the spinner pump thing snaps down helps with the height of it. I've never had the manual kind of spinner but I imagine this is easier.

It works!
I simply love this spinner. You put your greens, fruits or whatever in the basket. Wash and place the basket in the clear bowl. Put the top on and pump the handle up and down. It dries everything and nothing is soggy or broken. It holds enough for a salad for two and it doesn't take up much space in my cabinet.

Great product!
Considering that this is the "little" version, it holds quite a bit. Works well for leafy greens, cut vegetables and fruit, and holds plenty for several side salads for the week (for two people), or one or two beefy salads (again, for two people). Love that the lid comes apart for cleaning, and the brake works incredibly well. Greens can be stored directly in the container in the fridge. The bowl itself is well made and has a grippy texture around the bottom edge so it doesn't slide around the counter while spinning or the table while serving, and it doesn't look bad on the table either. The plastic is nearly crystal clear and really almost looks like a nice glass salad bowl, with the versatility and strength of a plastic salad spinner. After about 3-5 uses a squeak developed while spinning but that only lasted a couple more uses then dissipated. I was able to figure that is was coming from the brake not fully disengaging but it self resolved after the lid was taken apart for a cleaning. Speaking of which, after several YouTube videos, I found how to take it apart (my box did not contain instructions) and it was fairly simply. After actually finding instructions letting the pieces airy-dry is what took the longest. Still, it wasn't as much of a hassle as I think other products could be. I did a fair bit of research on salad spinners and looked at a variety of products, in a variety of price ranges. In the end I am happy that I chose an OXO product to be my very first salad spinner. I'm confident in the product, its integrity, and the company's integrity. Overall, I would highly reccomend this to anyone that is looking for something that looks great and works just as well.

How did I ever live without this?!?!
I've always thought about purchasing a salad spinner in the past but just never made the purchase. I finally did it and there is no going back! I purchased a small size salad spinner and its perfect for three heads of romaine lettuce. I used to place my lettuce in a Tupperware container after cutting and it never stayed fresh for long. I rinse and cut my lettuce and then use the salad spinner...After spinning I just place the whole thing in the refrigerator. To my surprise, the lettuce stays fresh for so long. I can't believe how crunchy the lettuce is! I haven't used this for anything other than lettuce but will definitely be using it for berries soon.

Best Salad Spinner in Existance. Makes Eating Healthy So Easy. No More Excuses!
OXO Good Grips products are some of the most thoughtfully designed kitchen products in existence and this Salad Spinner is no exception. This product will keep you salad drier, meaning it will last much longer. It also makes it easy to wash your salad and store it right in the spinner bowl! It looks sleek and encourages me to eat more healthy salad because it makes preparation so easy! I originally bought the small size, but I found myself wishing I had bought the larger size. The small size was large enough to fit enough lettuce for a large salad, but I wished I had bought something that can fit all my lettuce in for a week of safe keeping. My mother really liked the small salad spinner and was raving about it, so I decided to gift the small spinner to her and buy myself a large spinner. The large spinner is exactly like the small, except it can fit 2-3 times as much salad. I generally will buy 1 large head of romaine lettuce, cut it all up, and put it in the spinner basket. Then I'll thoroughly rinse the freshly cut lettuce in the spinner basket in the sink. The basket is a colander, so it is perfectly designed to wash and rinse your salad right in the basket. Then I put the basket with my clean lettuce into the spinner and spin away! As easy as a couple downward presses on the top button. The salad effortlessly spins at high speeds, forcing all the water to the outer edges and down into the empty reservoir bowl for catching the excess water. The spinner stays easily in place because the bottom has a no-slip liner around the edges. Also, wet salad means fast-rotting salad. The drier you can make your salad, the longer it will last. I find that salad will last over a week when I store it in this spinner. The spinner also has a nifty little button that you press to "brake" the spinning action so you can slow down the basket. Then all you have to do is pour out the excess water in the bottom of the bowl. The lettuce stays dry because it is suspended in the basket. Now I just put it back together and throw it in the fridge for all the lettuce I need for the week! If you're looking for a salad spinner, this is the best one in existence. Well worth the money - especially if it means developing healthier habits!

Price is worth it.
So i know this ia really pricey, but we live in a small 1 bedroom apt. With a small kitchen. We had one of these for over ten years. We Re ordering another because the rubber became moldy. Which really might have been our fault. This works well in the dishwasher too. Enough lettuce for 2 small salads or one large salad. Works better than any other salad spinner. You will notice the difference.
